Is there a CPT code for removing sutures?

A patient went to the urgent care locally and they sutured up a laceration, but are in my office now and wanting the sutures removed, is there a CPT Code just for that?

There are actually two options:

CPT 15853-Removal of sutures or staples not requiring anesthesia (List separately in addition to E/M code)
CPT 15854-Removal of sutures and staples not requiring anesthesia (List separately in addition to E/M code)

It says list the E/M separately so I should bill and E/M too?

It turns out E/M does not have a PTP edit so it does not require a modifier 25 and E/M is based on the new AMA guidelines created in 2023/2021. Let's say you are evaluating and managing this patient care, and they are an established patient, then bill CPT 99213 and CPT 15854 when no anesthesia is necessary.
